It is a simple concept to capture rainwater from your Rooftop.
- The filter is double layered where the outer filter is 5 Microns for Ultra filtration and the inner mesh is 100 Microns for minute particles. The filter size (LxB) is 61cm x 10cm.
- By default, keep the lower gate wall fully open to flow initial waste water and upper gate wall to be closed to avoid any kind of insects or waste entry.
- Initial rain water flown collects all mud and leaves from the roof top with it so it’s on your choice to collect it in drum/barrel for various purposes like gardening, vehicle cleaning, house stairs cleaning and all.
- Later Once you find that the water is coming clean so, at that time you can allow it to flow into the sump/storage tank through pipes & keep the lower gate wall a slightly open to flow the heavy particles & open the upper gate wall to flow clean water in the sump or storage area.
- Stored water can be disinfected by using Potash Alum(Fitkari) or Bleach.
- Now the filtered water can be used for domestic chores.
There are two approaches:
- Store First, then Filter: Bigger Storage Setup, then Direct to Storage;
- Direct to Storage: More filter required to handle heavy rain;
Note: Gate wall will help in controlling the flow, safety and hygiene.

Best Practices while using the Filter
- 500sqft catchment area per filter set.
- Make sure your roof top is maintained clean.
- Use Potash Alum(Fitkari)or Bleach to disinfect the water.
- When there is gap in the rain then it’s better to clean the filter.
